Down East Middle School students are getting a firsthand look at democracy in action as we elect our student leaders for the 2026–2027 DEMS Student Council!
This year’s Student Council has a full agenda, and we are excited about what our student leaders will accomplish. Working alongside their advisors, students will have opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their school, and help make Down East Middle School an even stronger community.
Already on the calendar are our Students in Government Field Trip, the Boo Bash, and several other projects and events designed to build school spirit, encourage service, and give students a meaningful voice at DEMS.
It’s Time to Vote!
Students should select the ballot for their grade level: (if you want your vote to count please wait until 9/23/2026 to vote). Yes, students can vote from home if they are sick.
Important: Each student may vote only once. Any student who submits more than one ballot will have both submissions disqualified. Mr. Howard and Mrs. Lewis will be able to review all votes as they are submitted to help ensure the election is conducted fairly.
Good luck to all of our candidates, and thank you to every student who stepped forward to serve! Running for Student Council takes initiative, creativity, and courage, and we are proud to see so many students willing to become involved.
Vote, get involved, and help make Down East Middle School even better!
